Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Junction City, Kansas, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store offers a quintessential taste of traditional Southern and American cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting that feels just like home. This beloved family restaurant effortlessly blends classic diner charm with the rustic comfort of a countryside eatery, making it a go-to spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

At Cracker Barrel, the kitchen takes pride in serving hearty, satisfying dishes crafted from time-honored recipes. Whether you’re starting your day with their fluffy Mini Buttermilk Pancakes served with syrup, butter, and a half order of bacon, or indulging in the summery new BBQ Bacon Smokestack burger—an 8 oz. 100% pure ground beef patty layered with melted American cheese, crispy fried onions, smoky bacon, tangy BBQ sauce, and their signature Country Comeback Sauce—the flavors are rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. Pair this with a side of golden Steak Fries for a meal that hits all the right notes.

The daily specials are a testament to the kitchen's dedication to variety and freshness, featuring standout dishes like Monday’s Chicken & Rice with tender baked chicken bathed in creamy mushroom sauce over buttery seasoned rice, or Wednesday’s Broccoli Cheddar Chicken that delivers home-style goodness in every bite, served alongside two country sides and fluffy, hand-rolled Buttermilk Biscuits or Corn Muffins. Even the kid-friendly menu impresses with offerings such as Lil' Barrel Cheeseburgers—miniature, perfectly cooked sliders—or the simple delight of Scrambled Egg & Biscuit with a side of Hashbrown Casserole.

Beyond the food, the inviting, bustling atmosphere at Cracker Barrel reflects genuine Southern hospitality. Guests often notice the efficient, friendly service that accompanies a steady stream of freshly prepared meals, creating a sense of comfort and belonging. While some visitors have observed minor lapses like a less-than-spotless floor, the overall experience consistently shines through with attentive servers who keep drinks full and tables cared for, underscoring a sincere commitment to guest satisfaction.

The dining experience is enhanced by the adjoining country store—a treasure trove of nostalgic gifts and unique finds. Many diners make a point to browse the shop after their meal, walking away with charming keepsakes, such as specialty coffee cups, that capture the spirit of their visit.

Whether you’re a local or passing through Junction City, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store provides a hearty, authentic taste of Southern comfort food paired with a friendly atmosphere that makes every meal feel like a cherished family gathering. It’s a place where the flavors are comforting, the service is warm, and the experience invites you to slow down, savor each bite, and leave with a smile.

We stopped in for an early dinner and had a decent meal. I had the chicken finger dinner with two sides - mashed potatoes and gravy and broccoli. The fingers were crispy and flavorful but definitely not as meaty as I remembered in the past. The potatoes were good but had a very sparse topping of gravy. My wife had the daily special, the oven baked broccoli cheddar chicken. She said it tasted ok even though the broccoli was little to be seen and the presentation on the plate appeared to be a bit disheveled. Overall, a good stop. The waitress was pleasant and efficient and plenty to look at in the gift shop.

We stopped in gete during a family vacation while we were traveling from Minnesota. I recommend eating here, it was quite amazing! These hot dishes are great, our waitress was amazing she was extremely friendly and attentive to us. After eating I went shopping at the store and found a great coffee cup to take back home. I am glad we stopped in and I would definitely eat here again it was a great experience.

We had no wait at all when we got here. The food was delivered hot and fresh to our table. The server was very kind and kept our drinks full. The only minor complaint was that the floor was dirty. There was food, silverware and trash laying on the floor which was a turn off and made me question the cleanliness practices behind the scenes. Overall though not a bad experience and we would return here again.

When we arrived they were just ending a very busy Black Friday lunch crowd so there was a wait for our server to get to us. She was very apologetic and attentive once she was able to get to us. The food as always was great and the lady that checked us out was EXTREMELY nice and helpful. We have always loved this chain but this one is one of the best.

Shay was great as the waitress. The only problem I had was the at the portion of my chicken fried chicken was small. But the carrot cake was delicious.

The waiter we had was wonderful. Made sure we always hot coffee refilled plus we had a spoon for our coffee. Some waiters don't do that and we have to ask for a spoon. It's the little things in life !

Cracker Barrel in Bryant is one of our staple spots, and it (usually) never disappoints! The food is always consistently delicious, and the atmosphere feels like home. Our toddler absolutely loves browsing the toys in the gift shop- it’s become part of our routine every time we visit. We also have to give a special shoutout to Monica, our favorite waitress! She is always so kind, attentive, and makes every visit feel extra welcoming. If you’re looking for good comfort food and great service, this location is definitely worth the stop!
